I recently started playing CoD WaW again after some time off. Problem is, tho, that when Im playing, the game suddenly "tabs out" to the desktop. This happens randomly, every 4-7 minutes or so. If Im playing multiplayer, I can usually get back in, although it takes a while. If Im playing singleplayer, I get back in the game but get nothing but a black screen and a cursor and have to shut down the game via the Task Manager.
As I said, Ive played the game before on another computer, which had Windows XP, and I didnt have this problem.
My current system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Ive tried running the game in compatibility mode for Windows XP, no use. Of course updated drivers as well, patched the game, no use.
My buddy, whom I play the game with, has the very same problem. He is also running it on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit.
Can anyone please help? This issue is extremely frustrating, as the single player is completely unplayable, and the multiplayer is an uphill struggle.
