Error when patching

I get an error when i try to patch the game from 1.2 to 1.4

The error message sais: Error 1325.Activision is not a valid short file name.

I'v already tried to reinstall the game(twise), poke around the registry and i'v also tried to download the patches from diffirent locations.
Installer for patch 1.0 to 1.2 worked well but suddenly this popped up, now i cant play multiplayer since all the servers run the new versions.
Havent found any patches that patch straight to the newest version, could have tried that otherwise.
Dam it's always something with this game........
