For Some reason when I use Dolby Digital Live, Or DTS Connect and an Optical Cable to my Z-5500 Decoder, Black Ops is unable to Recognise that it is a 5.1 system, and reverts to 2.0. It's automatically Up-mixed with Dolby Pro-Logic II, but it's not Discrete 5.1.
When using 3 Cables (as normal setups) 5.1 Audio is correct. (Everything comes out of the correct Speakers). I like to use DDL or DTSc as the sound is slightly crisper, (it's hard to explain).
All my other games, video's and Movies all correctly see that it is a 5.1 system, and send a 5.1 signal.
Another Issue I have, which I'm sure others have, ATI crossfire system do not have any FPS gain, if you use two cards in crossfire, it just splits the load 50/50. And because crossfire Performance is only an 80% Gain, when running in Crossfire, the game actually gets less FPS, a 20% Drop.
(But I'm not to bothered by this, as a single card is fine to the game maxed out)
Many Thanks
