As per the blog request for bug feedback, I'll try to keep this civil.
Whenever I play, the game will hard-freeze after about 10-30 minutes of play. This is in the campaign. The screen freezes during whatever's happening and the computer won't respond to commands (Alt-tab, ctrl+alt+del, Alt+F4, etc.) I have to restart the computer manually - hold in the power button and boot it again - to make it work again.
Some notes about the problem:
- It only happens during death or cutscenes, never during normal gameplay.
- It happens intermittently. I've gotten to level 5 now ('Nam) by being stubborn. So it's unfortunately not limited to just one mission.
- I've tried the (generic) advice posted on the Activision support ticket board. (Killing other processes, turning down graphics, etc.) This has neither helped nor worsened the condition.
- I've got a more than adequate machine to play the game.
- Due to the nature of the freeze, I suspect a memory leak.
- I've tried updating ATI drivers and downgrading them again. No dice.
- I bought the game on Steam, which worked fine. I have tried confirming the game cache. No change.
I hope Activision and Treyarch firstly acknowledge it's a known problem with the game (which it appears to be - I've done the "start Steam in offline mode, play then alt-tab out and shut down the Steam process) and then keep us informed on a time schedule for fixing it. Just a "we're working on it" would be great.
On that note, I know that this is primarily a multiplayer game. But I do hope that Activision and Treyarch will devote a significant amount of their resources to fixing the singleplayer. (If not, it will in essence be a €50 reskin and patch to MW2's multiplayer. Which is not a bad thing, but it's not a €50 good thing.)

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate - 64 Bit.
Processor: Intel Core i7-950.
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5970 2GB Black Edition with ATI Catalyst 10.10 drivers.
HDD: 10K-RPM Western Digital (40+ GB of free space.)
Memory: 6GB Kingston 2000mhz FSB RAM.
In this thread I want people with the SINGLEPLAYER freezing issue to post their experience and specifications. I do NOT want rants about how much this game suxx0rz. If you need to do that, make your own thread. If you want to conjecture about why this is happening, please do so, but separate it from the rest of your post if you would. Thanks.
