I keep reading that PS3 freezing problem is only occurring in small numbers. So, I wanted to post that every single person I know that owns a PS3 and plays Black Ops IS having freezing issues. My PS3 is first generation and a friend of mine just bought the newest PS3 this week. With my other friends, we compile seven different PS3 consoles and Black Ops games. ALL are having freezing problems. 100% of them. Some occasional. Some consistent. But definitely ALL of them. None of us have had freezing issues prior to playing Black Ops. Our disks are not scratched and we do not have connection problems.
Side note, other multiplayer oddities and annoyances:
- supply crates falling straight through the ground
- my character and enemies, when killed, falling through the ground
- the low frame rate
- the unplayable lag
- being disconnected from games consistently
- textures showing up as being pixelated and discolored
- saved custom class names reverting back to the default
- sound cutting in and out
- the collision detection can be laughable on occasion
- too many Theater mode issues to post (but I still love it)
This is a great game, but it's heavily flawed at the moment. The freezing issue is unacceptable. Thanks for your time.
